Fantasie Marianna Review*

A few months ago,  I was lucky enough to attend the Wacoal A/W17 press day for a little sneak of their future collections.    I can give you a tip bit – start saving now cause Elomi in particular are really pushing the boat out with some of the most delicious designs I’ve seen! Think emerald green babydolls, strapping details, and leopard print fit for the party and the bedroom!   Seriously – their forthcoming collection is screaming to be seen!

As part of the Wacoal press days, they offer a fitting service where you get to take a home  an item from one of their brands (Freya, Elomi, Fantasie, B*Tempted, Wacoal, and Goddess).   I nearly skipped this and planned on just telling the lovely bra fitters what size I would need (I was wearing a body that was not the easiest to get on and off).   But being in the changing room with a bevy of beauties (in this case Diana and Becky) was too much to resist.

And I’m glad I did try – I’ve changed shape a lot lately, a bit of middle age spread is seeping in, probably from travelling with work so much all of the time having an affect on my diet and exercise programme.   I don’t mind that my weight is expanding, but it does get expensive when previously beautifully fittings bras are now not quite sitting right.  Thankfully, the Fantasie Marianna* was a perfect fit – although not in my usual size!

Fantasie Marianna Review-5.png

I’m wearing the Marianna in a 36G, which is a cup size different to my normal 34H/36GG.  This surprised me as my boobs have actually been feeling a little swollen and full lately, with the dreaded double boob sneaking into many of my trusted bra choices.  But it does go to show how different styles and patterns can really alter the size you will need – just another reason we should all be trying our bras on before buying.

The Marianna is a soft cup bra with a stretch lace, I would definitely say the cup size is generous and the back band relatively firm.    The stretch lace means that the bra accommodates slightly wonky boobs like mine and allows for a little bit of fluctuation during the course of the month.

Fantasie Marianna Review-3

As you can see, the back band is tiny bit firm, causing the seam to fold across my back.  This was, however, only on first wear and the bra now fits far more comfortably with no folding of creasing of the fabric.  However, if you are between sizes then definitely size up as I’m probably a true 35 (36 is normally a tad loose, 34 a tad tight).

The set comes in a vibrant raspberry with ivory lace detail.  The back band is made from a sheer mesh in the same raspberry colour palette.   It is also available in a ghostly silver colour that is really quite beautiful.

I’m wearing the briefs in a XXL and they fit perfectly on my size 18 butt. I love how they cut quite high across the bum cheeks and hipbones without disappearing into a conventional thong shape.

Fantasie Marianna Review-6

The ivory lace detailing gives the impression of a lifted and rounded bum cheek, even though there is very little in the way of support in these pants.

The bra also gives a nice rounded shape to the breast tissue but, as with most soft cup styles, it doesn’t falsely enhance cleavage or height in the boobs.

Fantasie Marianna Review-4

The scallop detailing of the bra’s brand is very pretty, as are the little raspberry bows where the straps meet the cup.

It is an incredibly comfy and supportive bra, not allowing for too much movement within the cup meaning that your boobs remain safely constrained even whilst running for the tube (I did this on Thursday last).  It’s also one of the few bras I will wear for long business days as I know it won’t irritate under my arms.

Fantasie Marianna Review-2

The bra retails at around £38 with the matching briefs being around £18.   However, the raspberry colour is currently on sale for £25 for the bra and £14 for the brief which is quite a bargain given that Fantasie bras have a reputation of lasting the distance.

I think I may need to keep an eye out for the silver, it will be perfect for wintery parties.

Sculptresse Chi Chi Review

It’s been a while since I’ve done a review of one of my favourite plus size lingerie designers, Sculptresse.  Part of fuller bust favourite Panache, Sculptresse offers beautiful and supportive lingerie for the fuller bust and plus size market and their Pure Lace bra has long since been on of my underwear staples.

Despite this, I haven’t posted about them since 2015! Shocking really.   I think it’s because they’ve been a little quite on social media lately, their instagram is rarely touched and their parent company Panache scarcely share images of their plus size range.   I think all of this means they have well and truly dropped off my radar.   I had, largely, forgotten that Sculptresse exists – which is a shame as they offer such beautiful designs for us larger ladies.

Their recent collection is soft, playful, feminine and fun – just like this Chi Chi in Palm Print.

The Chi Chi is a three-part constructed soft cup bra that lifts the boobs and gives a great high, carriage.  I’m wearing a 36H and it is a great fit – the central gore sits flush (although slightly higher than normal) on my sternum and the back band sits low on my back.   The stretch lace panel on the cups contains all my breast tissue and there is a subtle side support panel that ensures all migrated breast tissue is supported and pushed back into the cup.

The bra doesn’t offer great cleavage but regular reader know that I often prefer a full and rounded shape without excessive pushing and moulding for wear beneath t-shirts and polo necks.

Sculptresse Chi Chi Review

The pants are high waisted with the front panel matching the palm print of the bra – this is surrounded by two lace panels in the same soft purple seen in the stretch lace of the cups.  The butt of the briefs in in the same shade of purple but a sheer mess.

Regular readers will already know that I’m going to complain about the label peeping through the sheer mesh.   It is a huge pet hate of mine and I really don’t know why brands can’t disguise there labels or move them to a part of the brief that doesn’t reveal all!

The briefs are a size 18 and fit beautifully.

The bra is prices at £35 and the briefs at £18.  This is incredibly reasonable for a fuller bust brand and I know from experience that the Sculptresse range really does last the distance – I’m still wearing my Pure Lace from 2015!

There other designs are really beautiful too – I’m loving the vibrant flirtation of the Flirtini.

Tutti Rouge Fifi Review*

Have you seen my Christmas lingerie look book yet?  This vibrant pink Fifi by Tutti Rouge is just one of the lovely pieces mentioned – and by lovely, I mean really lovely.   I mean, just look at the popping pink!

Fuller Bust Lingerie - Tutti Rouge Fifi Review

Tutti Rouge never seem to fail when it comes to fun and playful lingerie items that really delight the senses.   All come with the cutest of heart shaped clasps and an eye for details that most brands forget.   On the Fifi, it’s the tiny little leopard print bows against the vibrant hot pink – it makes me swoon a little bit.

tutti-rouge-fifi-review-3

The Fifi* soft cup bra is made from a three piece construction that really lifts your boobs and gives them a really full and rounded shape – not surprising that the focus is on shape really when it’s creators also made the Illegal Cleavage bra that’s favoured by so many!

I’m wearing a 34H and it’s a fairly good fit on me.  The band sits low on my back and the central gore sits flush against my skin.   My boobs fit into the floral and spot lace cups very well with no overspill or double boob.

Fuller Bust Lingerie - Tutti Rouge Fifi Review

The pants are an XXL and fit me perfectly – for reference, I’m normally an 18-20.  Sadly, the XXL is the largest size they currently do.

The only slight issue with the fit is around the back fat/underarm area – it’s quite a narrow band which means it doesn’t encase that flabby bit of misplaced bra tissue that I’m working at getting back toward the cup where it belongs.   Although I can swoop this round and into place, if I go to long without doing this it slips back to my underarm and causes the strap to twist on the Tutti.  Again, this is mostly my body, but a wider ban under the arm pit would help to contain this.

That said, look at the peep hole panties … aren’t they delightful?

The bra is generally very comfortable but did take a while to break in – I suggest wearing it around the house for a while until the elastic in the band has moulded nicely to your shape.   Now I can wear it all day (I went shopping in it just before writing this) and it was as comfy as pie.

I really like this bra and do highly recommend!  You can also order just in time for Christmas … if you’re quick!

Fuller Bust Neutral Toned Bra – Curvy Kate Ellace Review

We all need them, those neutral toned bras that disguise well underneath pale blouses but still offer the support, comfort, and the beauty of more overt bras.   Bras like this are hard to come by and I’ve not really the biggest fan of most t-shirt bras – there is only one that I have found that really offers great shape and comfort, the Curvy Kate Daily Dream (which I reviewed here).   Others have come close – but have either not lasted the distance or just failed to live up to early promises (you know the ones I mean, that feel great until you wear them for a couple of weeks and suddenly you get double boob or a rising back band).

A few weeks ago, in search of another neutral toned bra, I came across Curvy Kate’s Ellace Bra and thought I’d give a soft cup a go. I don’t know why I thought all hidden bra’s should be moulded?  Maybe it’s preconditioning!

fuller-figured-neutral-bra-review-curvy-kate-ellace-review-5

The Ellace bra, worn here in Latte, is a three part construction balconette that gives a great high and rounded shape for the breast.   The top panel of the bra is made from a pretty stretch lace that continues around the wiring and across the central gore.

I’m wearing the 36H and it fits me perfectly – the central gore sits flush against my sternum and the back band sit low and central.   The stretch lace encompasses all my breast tissues without any double boob and even accommodates my one boob being slightly larger – this is the best thing about soft cup bras, they allow for wonkiness.

Fuller Bust Neutral Toned Bra - Curvy Kate Ellace Review

I’ve had the bra for a fair few weeks now (bordering on months actually) and can ascertain for it being generally very comfortable – I’ve worn it for long work days and when travelling and it seems to be holding up really well.

On the odd occasion, the underwires have dug into my armpits a little bit but a quick readjustment and a swoop & scoop (lean forward and scoop misplaced bra tissue – that fat roll hanging under your armpit – back into the cup where it belongs) means it back right as rain and as comfy when I first put it on.

fuller-figured-neutral-bra-review-curvy-kate-ellace-review-3

The bra is priced at £31 so is fairly standard for a Curvy Kate bra that really should be a wardrobe staple – I know it’s now one of mine.  It also come with matching knickers and is also available in white, crimson, and black. I think the crimson would look amazing come Christmas, although I’m also in love with the Kitty!

As you can probably tell, I’m really loving this bra and definitely recommend it! Do you have a neutral toned bra that you would recommend?  I’m always on the look out for more to try!
